Itinerary (04 Nights/05 Days)

Day 1, Hemis festival

You will arrive at Leh by flight and meet our representative at the airport. He will take you to the Hotel where a traditional welcome will take place with Khataks and welcome tea and coffee. Take a full day rest to get acclimatized to the high altitude of 3524 Meters (11,500 ft). Later in the evening, visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Bazar for orientation. Dinner and overnight will be arranged at the hotel.

Day 2, Leh-hemis festival

After breakfast, proceed to visit the Hemis monastery to join the festivities. The courtyard of Hemis Gompa is the biggest Buddhist monastery in Ladakh and is the stage for the famous 'Hemis' festival that celebrates the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava. Lamas called 'chhams' perform splendid masked dances and sacred plays. The head lama presides over the function. The festival takes an auspicious turn every 12 years in the Tibetan Year of the Monkey when the two-storey high 'Thangka' depicting Padmasambhava is displayed. Later, drive back to Leh to enjoy the dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3, Leh-hemis festival and excursion to monasteries

After breakfast, proceed to visit the Hemis monastery to join the festivities again. Buy the souvenir from the temporary market. Also, visit the Shey Gompa, Shey is the ancient capital of Ladakh and Thikseygompa. It is an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel in Leh.

Day 4, Leh-pangong excursion

After early breakfast, drive for Pangong Lake which is 149 KM from Lehen route through Changla Pass which is third highest mountain motorable pass in the world. The Lake is situated at the height of 4350 meters (14270 ft) in the Changthang region of Leh district. The lake is hardly six to seven kilometers at its widest point but over 130 KM long. It is bisected by the international border between India and China and offers mesmerising sight scenes. Later, drive back to Leh from the same route. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel.

Day 5, Transfer to kushhok bakula

After early breakfast, you steer back to Kushok Bakula Leh airport for your return flight. Tour concludes!
